Product Description

Microtech Engineering offers high-quality Y Type Strainers, designed to remove unwanted solid particles, dirt, rust, scale and other impurities from flowing liquids, gases and steam. The strainer is installed in pipelines to protect pumps, valves, flow meters, heat exchangers and other process equipment from damage caused by foreign particles.

The Y Type Strainer features a compact Y-shaped body with an internal perforated or mesh filter screen. As the fluid passes through the strainer, suspended impurities are retained inside the screen while clean fluid continues through the pipeline.

Manufactured in different materials and screen configurations, Y Type Strainers are suitable for food, pharmaceutical, chemical, beverage, water treatment and general industrial applications.

Working Principle

The Y Type Strainer is installed directly into the process pipeline. When fluid enters the strainer, it passes through the internal filter screen, which traps solid particles and unwanted impurities.

The filtered fluid exits through the outlet connection, while collected particles remain inside the screen chamber. For cleaning, the pipeline is isolated and depressurized before opening the drain or cover arrangement and removing the screen for inspection and cleaning.
